Family Court With Judge Penny is an upcoming syndicated judicial show to be hosted by former judge and lawyer Penny Brown Reynolds, which set to premiere in fall 2008[1][2]. It will be produced by 44 Blue Productions and distributed by Sony subsidiary Program Partners in the United States and Canada.
[edit] Details
The series will feature Reynolds taking on tough family cases, among them domestic abuse, child custody, reckless parenting and more. It will also draw on Reynolds' experiences as an impoverished child being raised by a single mother, which she will bring to the bench[3]. The series has been sold in over 70% of the United States TV markets[4][5].
Prior to making the jump to TV, Reynolds was serving as a judge on the Fulton County, Georgia State Court, where she was appointed to the position in 2000 by then Georgia governor Roy Barnes. Her decision to enter television was spurred by her appearance on Dr. Phil in 2007. Reynolds now joins two other former Fulton County court officials, Juvenile Court Judge Glenda Hatchett and Assistant District Attorney Nancy Grace in jumping from the courtroom to the television studio[6].
