[edit] Two COTWs

Hiya Falphin, I've gone ahead and created a page for having 2 COTWs, it's at Wikipedia:Collaborations of the week - your improvements to the page are much desired! Cheers, Talrias (t | e | c) 22:03, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Lima

Hello, I just wanted to know what was your criteria behind some changes in the Lima article.

  • Why did you delete pictures such as that of the Torre Tagle Palace, and keep pictures such as the Lima City Walls one, which is much less important and less known by tourists than the Torre Tagle Palace?
  • Why did you put the infobox on top? Most articles about important cities (for example New York, Paris and Miami) first have an introduction with a picture of a descriptive tourist attraction/place, and the infobox is located below this. Besides, I've been using this standard format on all mayor Peruvian cities. Infoboxes right next to the intro look ugly. --Tuomas hello 17:12, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply. What do you mean "so that everything fit"? All pics looked fine on my monitor. --Tuomas hello 17:22, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
It's not necessary for all pics to be in the history section. They can be scattered all over the article since they are all about the same subject, which in this case is Lima. --Tuomas hello 17:29, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
I plan to add much more info, though. The article will get bigger with time. --Tuomas hello 17:33, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
It will be expanded really soon. Trust me.--Tuomas hello 17:45, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] COTW nomination

Hiya Falphin, please note when making COTW nominations in future that there is a new template specifically for this purpose. Using this template will help in archiving and general administration of the COTW page. I've mentioned this to you as you nominated a new article after the nomination procedure had been changed, therefore you might not have noticed it. Cheers, Talrias (t | e | c) 19:40, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I have removed your submission, since you didn't use the templates - using the templates helps greatly in administration and now we've switched to them if a new cotw is added without using them it is rather confusing. Talrias (t | e | c) 23:15, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hiya, in case you aren't watching my talk page, I have replied there. Cheers, Talrias (t | e | c) 23:20, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RfA/RfC

Thanks for taking the time to participate in the RfA. The RfC that I initiated against RangerDude was withdrawn when he agreed to participate in mediation, which is now pending. Due to that I have not prepared a detailed response to RD's accusations. However, I have made a few comments to explain myself on the old RfC page, here: Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Rangerdude#Statement_of_the_dispute. -Willmcw 20:40, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your support for my adminship. Your comment, "patient with all of the annons, and new users and discussed every issue brought up", was actually about the nicest thing anyone wrote. Cheers, -Willmcw June 28, 2005 18:59 (UTC)

[edit] 66.176.67.116

One dumb kid on a static IP - you can safely block him a lot longer - please do.

lots of issues | leave me a message 6 July 2005 01:42 (UTC)

We can establish three things with certainty.

  1. He is recurrent -- he is on a static IP.
  2. On a Comcast (US cable Internet provider) IP -- he is not sharing the IP with anyone outside of the immediate household.
  3. He is a dumb kid.

Therefore there is little harm and much to gain for booting some little asshole breaking the summer ennui by vandlizing us.

[edit] Igeret Ya'acov?

I couldn't find the article, and your link didn't work. Which article is it? Jayjg (talk) 8 July 2005 21:45 (UTC)

[edit] AiG

As all the links are to the same website (just different articles) I think this verges on going against the External link policy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links regarding listing an overwhelming number external links supporting on POV. You also removed my reference to No Answers in Genesis Link and also the change I made to the 'atheist' reference of No AiG. Do you have objections to these being included too?

I do not wish to enter a revert war with you. Before I make further changes the the AiG website listing I would appreciate receiving your views on this. Cheers, Henry. --Maustrauser 9 July 2005 01:23 (UTC)

[edit] Archiving

Why would I archive what I didn't want anybody to plainly see? I mean, I know you can find it if you dig deep enough, but why would I advertise something I want to forget? Zpb52 05:00, July 10, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Templates

SimonP spent hours yesterday removing all kinds of templates, he is not even moving them, but taking them off completely. He does that to illustrate his point and destroys work by others, it takes quite some time to identify articles that need to be expanded, cleaned up etc. I don't want to go into a revert war, so let's hope he stops, if not, we have a problem.--Fenice 07:59, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

I have spent some time trying to resolve this issue.

There is a poll discussing where templates belong recently created at Wikipedia:Template locations, and a discussion at Template talk:Expansion. ~~~~ 13:54, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
