"False Pretense" is the second single from the album Don't You Fake It by Pop punk band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. While on Fuse's Amp'd Guide to the Holidays special, Elias Reidy made a comment that it was about stabbing a friend in the back, and betrayal.[citation needed] There is a sign shown in the music video and it is the symbol for The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus fan club.[citation needed] The symbol is seen around their concerts on stickers or on fake tattoos. This song was also called "Crossed Eyes".[citation needed]
[edit] Music video
The music video shows masked figures who are later identified as the other band members who kill Ronnie Winter for a mysterious woman in a red dress. She is later seen paying the band members for doing her dirty work. Time runs backwards from midnight to 9pm to show the payment. The video was directed by Shane Drake.
