Falmouth High School (Maine)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Falmouth High School (Maine) is a public high school located in the town of Falmouth, Maine. The school serves roughly 650 students in grades 9-12. Located on the Woodville Road Campus, recently a brand new Falmouth High School was built, first occupied in the 2001-2002 school year. Up until 2001, the school was shared with Falmouth Middle School (Maine), and some time ago was in the Plummer-Motz building on the corner of Route 9 and Lunt Road. Falmouth High School is located near the geographic center of town, and is abutted by Falmouth's Community park, allowing for recreational opportunities for all ages. The school's mascot is the Yachtsman and the school colors are blue and gold. Falmouth is well known for it's excellent programs in boy's and girl's soccer, cross-country, track and field, swimming, golf, tennis and hockey, as well as it's professional-caliber theatre company.

As part of the consolidation mandated by the state in 2007, Falmouth High school will remain (at the time) unaffected, however the district operations will be shared with SAD 51, from neighboring Cumberland, Maine and North Yarmouth, Maine
