Falls Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Falls Park (Irish: Páirc na bhFál; derived from the petty Irish kingdom of Tuath na bhFál; meaning territory of the enclosures/hedgerows) is an electoral ward of West Belfast, named after the West Belfast park of the same name. The ward was created in 1985 as a successor to the former Milltown ward which had been oversized. It lost the Saint James area to the Beechmount ward in 1993.
Under current proposals for the restructuring of local government in Northern Ireland the ward is to be abolished and divided between new wards of Gortnamona and Upper Falls as well as the current Glen Road ward.
