Fallingbrook Middle School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fallingbrook Middle School is a school located at 5187 Fallingbrook Drive in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Fallingbrook Middle School has been named one of the top 40 schools in Canada according to Today's Parent Magazine for its program Exploratories (or Pathways), a unique concept where students can choose their classes. The school, which opened in 1996, currently has around 800 students. The school's mascot is the Fallingbrook Falcon. The school has a house system to encourage students to have school spirit, make good choices, etc. The four houses are named after four falcons: Kestrel, Merlin, Peregrine, and Saker. At the end of the year, the house with the most points wins a trip to a certain place (usually the Playdium).

The four houses each have their own ``House Colours``. Each student gets a gym shirt in that colour.
HOUSE COLOURS
Kestrel: Red
Merlin: Green
Peregrine: Purple
Saker: Black

The Merlins have won the house championship in school years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
The Sakers have won in school year 2004-2005.

Fallingbrook Middle School's teachers created a speech contest called "Excellence in Eloquence." Which also include other schools in the neighbourhood. It's a good way to write about your favourite topic and spread word about what is happening in the world. Three of the best will be chosen for each grade (6-8) and will then compete with others.ΒΈ

Fallingbrook Middle School is also the first middle school to put up an electric sign board in different languages, so parents that speak another language may know what is going on. It usually says "Welcome" in different languages.
