FallingRain

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FallingRain is a global mapping system analogous to GoogleMap, etc. It focuses on displaying terrain, airports, and railway lines. The maps are accessed by the names of towns, rather than by Latitudes and Longitudes. The map for each town is displayed with two thumbnail sketches, one medium one for the country view and the other large one for the global overview.

Contents

[edit] Railway lines

Railway lines are show by lines of red dots. Since the location of railways is severely governed by topography, it is helpful that FallingRain shows both railways and typography.

[edit] Interesting Maps

[edit] Closed railways

Both MSN and FallingRain maps still show some closed railway lines such as the Sierra Leone Government Railway closed in 1974 and the branch lines to Ajana and Yuna in Western Australia.

[edit] Elevation

Handily, FallingRain gives a spot elevation of the town which it is pointing at.

[edit] Example

[edit] Up to date?

In 2008, the FallingRain map does not show the important new Jamuna bridge which connects Sirajganj‎ and Tangail
