Fall River Mills is a census-designated place (CDP) in Shasta County, California, United States. The population was 648 at the 2000 census.

There are rumors that Fall River Mills and nearby McArthur would merge and incorporate into one city; they would most likely incorporate with 1,295 people.

Fall River Mills is located at 41°0′21″N, 121°26′27″W (41.005760, -121.440946)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km²), of which, 2.7 square miles (7.1 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (2.14%) is water.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 648 people, 261 households, and 173 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 236.5 people per square mile (91.3/km²). There were 304 housing units at an average density of 111.0/sq mi (42.8/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 80.71% White, 9.57% Native American, 5.40% from other races, and 4.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 12.35% of the population.

There were 261 households out of which 34.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.0% were married couples living together, 15.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 31.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 30.9% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 83.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.9 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $29,833, and the median income for a family was $34,306. Males had a median income of $35,197 versus $21,364 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $15,667. About 22.1% of families and 27.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 53.0% of those under age 18 and 17.9% of those age 65 or over.

In the state legislature Fall River Mills is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Sam Aanestad, and in the 2nd Assembly District, represented by Republican Doug LaMalfa. Federally, Fall River Mills is located in California's 2nd congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +13[3] and is represented by Republican Wally Herger.
