"Fall" is the title of a song recorded by Curb Records recording artists Clay Walker and Kimberley Locke. Both singers included their version of the song on their albums, both released within weeks of each other in the Spring of 2007. While Clay's version was a country song, Kimberley's version had more an an adult contemporary pop arrangement.

[edit] Clay Walker version

It is the second single released from Clay's 2007 album, also titled Fall. This song marked Clay's first Top 5 single since "The Chain of Love" in 2000. A music video was issued on October 17, 2007.[1]. Walker's first fall on the album was called "'Fore She Was Momma" which didn't peak as high as "Fall".

[edit] Chart performance

The song debuted at #59 on the Hot Country Songs chart dated April 7, 2007, just before Fall was released. It charted for 37 weeks on that chart, and peaked at #5 on the country chart dated November 17, 2007, giving Clay his fourteenth Top Five single on that chart (and first since "The Chain of Love", which peaked at #3, in the summer of 2000.) This version also peaked at #56 on the Billboard Hot 100.

[edit] Kimberley Locke version

The song is the third single from Kimberley's Based on a True Story album, which was released only 2 weeks after Clay Walker's album.[2] Locke's version was released to AC radio on February 25, 2008, with club remixes following in April. After a performance of the single on American Idol results show on March 26th, 2008, the song shot up to #50 on the Top Pop single downloads on Itunes.

Billboard reviewed the single as "a stunning showcase for the versatile vocalist" and suggests this may be her most satisfying single yet along with 8th World Wonder, her biggest hit to date.[3]
