Fajã Grande is a parish in the municipality of Lajes das Flores in the Azores. The population in 2001 is 225, its density is 17.9/km² and the area is 12.55 km². Fajã Grande (31º 16' 8" W) is the westernmost village in the Azores and all of Europe.

The Monchique Islet (31º 16' 24″ W), west of Fajã Grande, is the westernmost point of Europe. Once, during the period of navigation by astronomy, this islet was an important point of reference for the verification and calibration of the navigation instruments of ships. Between here and America, there is nothing else than the Atlantic, except Bermuda, which is located off the East coast of North America.
