Draco Malfoy

Hi, You reverted my edits in the Draco Malfoy article on the grounds that "it isn't 2008 yet". I'm sorry but I do not quite see the connection. What has next year got to do with anything ?--Marktreut 16:07, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

The edit summary was in reference to the speculative edit which was made just before your edit, which was also reverted. faithless (speak) 19:50, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Luna Lovegood

I also reverted the IP 'pudding' edits to Luna Lovegood. I Googled it and saw there was a JK Rowling connection, so after some thought I am willing to WP:AGF. If you know this topic better, feel free to edit the pudding out, but otherwise, I will not intervene. SaltyBoatr (talk) 22:02, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh yeah, I have no doubt that it was a good faith edit. The reason I removed it was that it was poorly written as well as just unnecessary cruft. faithless (speak) 22:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

why

did you revert that edit I made? its a very helpful edit indeed. Blueanode (talk) 21:04, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

There were two reasons: Most importantly, it was unnecessary and inaccurate. Yes, the Simpsons is an American show, but saying that in the lead ignores that fact that it is also broadcast in a many other countries; that is, it isn't "just" an American show anymore. Less importantly, it was poorly written. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Cheers, faithless (speak) 21:11, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Then what can I do to make good edits? is there anything left to work on here? Blueanode (talk) 21:49, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Hogwarts students article draft

Hi Faithless, I did a draft of the article in here: Draft. The weight of the draft is about 79 KB, and I listed almost every character from the Minor G/H/R/S articles, except those who are Quidditch players with little appearances and those from the "Others" sections. The draft is still really large though. I would appreciate your opinion. Lord Opeth (talk) 03:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey Opeth, I responded on the talk page of the draft. faithless (speak) 04:26, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

"Others" section

I agree, that's a good idea. But I don't know the name of every Quidditch player, I would only add those that were left out (like Davies or Montague) and also those from the already-existing "Others" sections in the 4 houses' articles. Lord Opeth (talk) 00:39, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

"Music For Love"

Well, then how come there are HUNDREDS of pages that are made for future singles that have not yet been released?--FSX-2007 (talk) 07:38, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Are there? Could you provide examples? Regardless, please review WP:BAND#Albums and songs, specifically

Most songs do not merit an article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for a prominent album or for the artist who wrote or prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable. A separate article is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; permanent stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album.

"Music For Love" doesn't seem to meet these criteria. faithless (speak) 07:43, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, Mario's Kryptonite is an example. David Banner's Get Like Me is another. Keri Hilson's Henny and Apple Juice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by FSX-2007 (talkcontribs) 07:47, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
That's not quite "hundreds." Those probably should be redirected to that album or artist, though two of those three are at least sourced, unlike Music For Love.It isn't just this song, it's like the guideline above says: "Most songs do not merit an article...A separate article is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article." If you disagree with the proposed deletion, you should make your case at the discussion rather than here. Cheers, faithless (speak) 07:58, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

The Two Jacks last warning

I don't see how it can be a final warnning when I have done what you want to do by deleting the article!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tangerinetom (talkcontribs) 08:34, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

You didn't delete the article; only an administrator can do that. You removed a speedy delete tag, which I specifically warned you not to do, as it can lead to a block. I know I'm coming off like an ass, and I apologize, but you didn't seem interested in taking me up on my offer of helping you, and instead you carried on recreating deleted material and removing sd tags. There wasn't much more I could do. My offer still stands - if you want a hand in navigating Wikipedia until you know your way around, I'd be glad to help you out.And if you're still convinced that the article you created is legitimate, let's talk about it. I'll help you out with writing it if I can, but the first thing we have to do is decide if The Two Jacks are notable or not. The article didn't make any assertion of notability, which is why I repeatedly nominated it. Do you have any published accounts in reliable sources which discuss the group? I hope you aren't taking this personally; your contributions are appreciated. We just have to make sure you're working within the framework of the community. Again, I offer any assistance I can give you. Cheers, faithless (speak) 08:43, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Tokyo Yankees

Hi! I saw your revert on Tokyo Yankees. I was patrolling the recent page and checked the change of the article. I checked if it was a fact by googling and it turned out to be true. I restored the edit and copyedited. Hope you don't mind. Regards. Oda Mari (talk) 10:12, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh, okay, no problem. I did a quick G search and didn't find anything, and went to the website linked on the article and didn't see anything mentioned. But thanks for letting me know! faithless (speak) 10:14, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Do you want to be an administrator?

I noticed you on RC patrol today, and I've seen you before. Based on a review of your contribution history, I think you would have no difficulty passing a request for adminship if you wish to be an administrator. If you would like me to write a recommendation for you, now or in the future, I am willing to do it. (I have nominated several current administrators.) If you'd prefer to stay as a normal user, that's okay too; you're in good company. :) Shalom (HelloPeace) 03:51, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Wow, thank you! I'm honored that my contributions are so well regarded, especially coming from such a solid editor. I've never really given it much thought, though my gut reaction is sure, why not? I'll mull it over and get back to you; I'm going in for surgery later this month, so if we do go ahead with it, it would probably be best to wait until sometime next month. Again, thank you; I'm humbled by your offer, and will be sure to get back to you as soon as I reach a decision, likely in the next few days. Cheers! faithless (speak) 05:05, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Good luck with your surgery. :) Shalom (HelloPeace) 14:51, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry.

I always make a mistake on somethings, I generally just add an edit summary, which if you check, normally with me have little do do with what I actually do. My main reasoning is some edit wars, and alot of POV inclusion. But I will have a look through your contributions and will probably reconsider. On the other hand you seem a good editor. Heads up

Hey, haven't looked at it yet, but look out, this might be a BLP thing, what with the edit summary. I'll take a second to read over it and get back to you. Peace, delldot talk 11:09, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Huh, well there's nothing negative in it. It all just looks factual. Must be a typical vandal. Maybe I'll see if I can get them to discuss it. Too bad the whole thing's unreferenced, huh? Peace, delldot talk 11:12, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
You caught me right in the middle of the reply, now I have to start over. :) Yeah, the article looks pretty well established, and there's nothing defamatory written. I suppose the IP could possibly be the subject of the article, but if she is she hasn't bothered explaining what these supposed "lies" are. I'll see if I can't track down a few sources. Cheers, faithless (speak) 11:16, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Nice, thanks. I didn't bother to leave them that note after all, since they were already blocked. Maybe if they come back we can try to figure out what they're on about. Peace, delldot talk 11:23, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Minor edits

Hi. I was looking at your contributions to consider !voting at your RFA when I noticed that all of your WP:TWINKLE vandalism reverts are showing up as major edits. Vandalism reverts really should be marked as minor so that they don't get in the way of people doing RC patrol. In your monobook.js, there is a line markRevertedPagesAsMinor  : [], that is causing all of them to be marked as major edits. You can fix the problem by changing it to markRevertedPagesAsMinor  : [ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand', 'torev' ],. Or if you want to only mark vandalism reverts as minor, but leave everything else you revert with twinkle major, you can use markRevertedPagesAsMinor  : [ 'vand' ],. --B (talk) 05:57, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know all that. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll make the change. Cheers, faithless (speak) 06:00, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Change made. :) faithless (speak) 06:10, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Characters' pages

Hi there! I think that we cannot do anymore merges for HP characters. We have 13 individual pages and 9 group pages. That gives us a total of 22 pages for all (I think there are almost 150) characters. I still have my doubts about the House-elves and the Ghosts but the Magical Creatures article is already large, and it will become one of those crufty monsters if we merge the information from elves and ghosts into it. I think that 22 pages for characters is reasonable. I made a suggestion in the WikiProject to do no more merges there and keep these 22 pages. I would be interested in reading your opinion. Greetings! Lord Opeth (talk) 18:07, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

I Apologize

I apologize that the things I might have done that is negative, but I only want to help. I don't want to vandalize anything, I just want to expand more information and discover more to add here. All the submits I send that are future films, I try to find all the details, I added the sources as instructed. The weblinks I put down and I thought that you might look them up to find more information, edit the boxes and possibly create new articles. I don't lie, I only want to help add information and I apologize for the bad things I typed on. I love Wikipedia, I am sincerly and I still hope I can still help.

Thank You

Thank you, I'll do my best to follow the rules. I have a question to ask. When I submit an article about an upcoming movie, I do my best to make it look like other articles and I know that I am not the best type writer. The sources that put in, the website addresses like www.imbd.com. Will you be able to look up on the websites or type in the title at Google to find more information and edit or change the articles I submit to create an article. The best websites to look up for upcoming are www.hollywood.com, www.imbd.com and www.allmovie.com Could this be possible, so let me know and thank you.
