I have removed some inaccurate information posted earlier. The previous person made the mistake of stating FCBC as one of the 3 megachurches, the other two being New Creation Church and City Harvest Church. This information is inaccurate as there are more than 3 megachurches in Singapore. By definition, a megachurch is a church with a membership of more than 2000 people. To my knowledge, churches such as Victory Family Centre, Trinity Christian Centre and Covenant Evangelical Free Church in Singapore have membership of more than 2,000 people. I am currently doing my Post Graduate studies in Trinity Theological College and I know of follow classmates in the denominational churches with membership exceeding 2000. Please be aware of the difference between "a membership of more than 2000 people" and "a congregation of more than 2000 people for a typical weekly service". Unfortunately for you, a megachurch is defined by the latter, not the former, and while the content emphasizing megachurches should be removed, your rationale is incorrect. By the way, churches like Church of Our Savior, SJSM, Wesley Methodist belonging to the Anglican and Methodist denominations in Sinapore have weekly attendance exceeding 2000 in number too. This I have come to know through my fellowship with the members of the National Council of Churches(Singapore). You could give their office a call to confirm the figures. So in actual fact, Singapore does have more than 3 mega churches!Firefly2505 16:37, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
I have added Lighthouse Evangelism, Victory Family Centre and Trinity Christian Centre as megachurches in Singapore from my interaction with friends from these churches. I will try also gather more statistics and may come up with a list of churches in Singapore with more than 2000 people in weekly attendances; maybe in another sub-grouping. (Maybe I will do this as part of my research in my current post graduate studies.) Hopefully this will help. Toyota1973 19:50, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
