[edit] George Mason University
It's in Fairfax County. Look at the city map I linked. The university is well beyond the city limits. The fact that the Town of Fairfax bought the land to the state does not mean it was then within the town limits or that they got to keep it when the the town became a city.--Wehwalt 00:45, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] External links
Hi Corsulian, you've made some good improvements to this page, but I'm going to restore the link to the map of local sex offenders. I think a common reason to read a city/community article like this one is to evaluate it when considering moving there. In that light, this is a reasonably good external reference. [edit] Fairfax outside of Fairfax City
I live in an municipality denoted by the USPS as "Fairfax, VA" (zip code 22033) but it is in Fairfax County, rather than the City of Fairfax. This "Fairfax" is neither included in the list of unincorporated communities nor discussed on the Fairfax County article. I think there should be a distinction made on this article because it's currently excluding a whole section of Fairfax County. --Kaleb.G (talk) 18:05, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- What's wrong with including any relevant info in the Fairfax County article?--Wehwalt (talk) 18:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- I added a note about this article referring to the independent city only. There are articles on the unincorporated areas that have a "Fairfax, Va" mailing address:
- Most of the 22033 zip code is commonly considered part of the Fair Lakes area (and maybe a small part could be considered its own area of "Penderbrook"). Corsulian (talk) 14:17, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Historic Sites in the County enclave
I moved this line, "The Old Courthouse, and the Old Jail, lie within the county enclave within the City." here as it doesn't fit very well with the article. It's also not particularly good grammar. It is true but I think a master of tables should include it on the historic sites table. Corsulian (talk) 17:44, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
