Talk:Fairchild Aircraft
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- Since this company was never known as simply Fairchild I suggest moving, and letting the disambig take the Fairchild spot. But since it has changed names a few times, I figured I'd request some input. FrozenPurpleCube 19:59, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
You are right, Fairchild doesn't really work- what about Fairchild (aircraft manufacturer) as a more accurate title/description. Bzuk 20:02, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds pretty good to me. FrozenPurpleCube 02:47, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Clarification
There are some disrepancies between this article, M7 Aerospace, and AvCraft Aviation, specifically with regard to the bankruptcy transaction dates. Anyone have clear data on this? —Joseph/N328KF (Talk) 03:40, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Not completely clarified, but see this: 2003: Fairchild Dornier's assets go to AvCraft (Virginia, USA), M7 Aerospace (Texas, USA) and RUAG Aerospace (Switzerland) - from http://www.shanaberger.com/fairchild.htm Archtransit (talk) 22:24, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Merge with Fairchild Industries
This article should be merged with Fairchild Industries, since they are about the same corporation. --rogerd 11:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- I concur, as well check out The Sherman Fairchild Empire article; that's another merge possibility. FWIW Bzuk 12:23, 22 August 2007 (UTC).
- Disagree. It's a good idea to have the aircarf manufacturing side separate from the parent companies. Pratt & Whittney and Sikorsky are separate from United Technologies, and Bell Helicopter and Cessna are separate from Textron. However, Fairchild Corporation and Fairchild Industries are both short stubs, and could probably be better off together. - BillCJ 05:45, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep separate. The Fairchild Industries article can and should be expanded on its own. This article is OK by itself. The Fairchild Aircraft Ltd. Canada article might could merged to here. I'm sure some more details could be added here as well. -Fnlayson 12:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- No consensus. Enough time has occurred in the discussion phase; tag removed. FWIW Bzuk 02:02, 16 September 2007 (UTC).
