Faith and Desire is a Canadian band from the early 1990's whose music was a fusion of progressive rock and funk. The band's signature sound combined melody, driving rhythm, and rock guitar riffs. Initially formed by Gary Paul Gillespie (lead vocals) and Ian Cameron (guitar, violin), who met in Vancouver, BC and founded the group as a recording project in 1989. Bassist Thom Christinson and drummer Bill Hicks played in the first incarnation of the band. Upon Bill Hicks departure, Rob Kurzreither joined.

Faith and Desire released two albums between 1993 and 1995. The first, 'Faith and Desire' produced their first single, "One Condition of Love", which received strong radio support across Canada that gave Faith and Desire a "Top Adds" mention in 'The Record'. The second CD, 'Heavy Mellow', was released independently in Canada and was picked up internationally by Sony (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and Escape Records (U.K.). The single, "Fool For A Day", ended up on a CD compilation from Valentine Music Productions (Singapore) that was distributed in countries such as China, Korea, and Malaysia, and was included in the television series Higher Ground.

As of 2008 the band members are all separately involved in other creative endeavors but still play corporate functions and special occasions on a regular basis.
