Faisal X is the main proponent of X-ism, a theory developed from Sun Tzu's The Art of War. The main tenet of X-ism is that there is no longer a market for the sale of recorded music and so new methods of distribution must be developed.
Faisal X has earned his dues through performance with Steel Pulse, Dawn Penn, Neville Staples from The Specials, Ranking Roger from The Beat, Black Steel, Eek-a-Mouse, Gil Scott-Heron, Brian Jackson, Basil Gabbidon from Steel Pulse, Elvin Jones, Gary Crosby, Soweto Kinch and Tomorrows Warriors.
