Faisal Qureshi (born 16 August 1964 in Karachi) is a Pakistani entrepreneur, founder chair person of a non-profit organization Loose Ends Pakistan, anchor person of several TV talk shows, including Loose Ends on Business Plus and Breakfast at Dawn on Dawn News, and founder chair person of the high IQ society Mensa Pakistan.

Faisal lives in Karachi with his wife and parents. He is married to Reema Siddiqui, an event planner and partner in J&S3 Communications. He has two elder siblings.

Faisal attended Christ the King School and Saint Paul's English High School in Karachi, for his primary education. He then attended Habib Public School from 1973 to 1979, from where he passed his matric. He then attended Dayaram Jethamal Science College between 1979 and 1982 for his F.Sc.

After completing his secondary education in Pakistan, from 1969 to 1981 he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he obtained a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. During this time he was active with various student organizations like The Union International Committee and the International Students Association, of which he was also the chair person for one year.

Faisal is the Chief Executive of Kolachi Advanced Technologies, a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner that provides ISV/Software and Mobility solutions. Kolachi specialises in trading technologies and order management systems; its customised trading suite XTreme consists of comprehensive order and execution management, routing and reporting suites for hedge funds, investment managers and brokerages, along with buyside and sellside FIX engines.

Faisal was the founder chair person of Mensa Pakistan from 1995 to 1998. Mensa is an international society whose only qualification for membership is a score in the top 2% of the general population on a standardized intelligence test. Faisal became a member of Mensa International and started the Pakistan chapter of the organization in 1995.

[edit] Loose Ends TV Show

Faisal hosted the popular TV show Loose Ends aired on Business Plus every weekend from 19 May 2006 to 31 March 2007. Loose Ends highlighted common issues often neglected in Pakistan and tried to give encouragement to people to make a difference in their lives and their environment. The show gained immense popularity due to Faisal's cynical style and quick wit. Its increasing viewership was evident from the presence on its website's discussion forums. His co-hosts on the show were Umar Sheikh, Tania Khan and Reema Faisal.

Faisal is a founder member, board member and chair person of Loose Ends Pakistan, a non-profit organization targeted towards arousing a desire to change among the youth in Pakistan. Loose Ends Pakistan, a by-product of the TV show Loose Ends, was registered on 27th January 2007 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, and aims to identify and foster capabilities of socially aware people for the benefit of society and humanity. The increasing popularity of the talk show gathered together a group of followers on Loose Ends website forum, who decided to create a platform for channelizing their energies into something positive, giving birth to the society.

Faisal Qureshi appeared as a guest on the TV show Red Carpet, aired on CNBC Pakistan at 7 PM on Friday, 15 September 2007. He talked about his experiences as an anchor person and as a host of Loose Ends.

Faisal anchors the morning show on Dawn News TV, Breakfast at Dawn with co-host Ayeshah Alam. The casual yet crisp talk show focuses on current affairs, sport, business, health, etc. and is is aired from 7 AM to 9 AM weekdays on Dawn News, a Pakistani News Channel run by the [[Dawn Group] of Newspapers.

Faisal is also an occasional writer on several platforms. He keeps a personal blog, a blog on current affairs of Pakistan and a blog about social and ethical issues in Pakistan.
