Fairfield Township is one of the eighteen townships of Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 9,583 people in the township, 4,215 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]

Located in the northeastern part of the county, it borders the following townships:
- Beaver Township, Mahoning County - north
- Springfield Township, Mahoning County - northeast corner
- Unity Township - east
- Middleton Township - southeast corner
- Elkrun Township - south
- Center Township - southwest corner
- Salem Township - west
- Green Township, Mahoning County - northwest corner
Most of the city of Columbiana is located in northern Fairfield Township, and a small part of the village of Leetonia is located in the township's northwest.

It is one of seven Fairfield Townships statewide.
[edit] Government
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.
