Fairfield Resorts is the largest timeshare company and has the largest number of owners in the world. It has now been renamed Wyndham Vacation Resorts, and is a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide, based in Orlando, Florida. The company's name comes from its first resort, Fairfield Bay Resort in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.
In Oct. 12, 2006, Fairfield Resorts announced that it will re-brand its name to Wyndham Vacation Resorts following the spin-off from Cendant Corporation to Wyndham Worldwide only to become one of the world’s largest publicly traded hospitality companies.
Following the Wyndham Championship August 13-19, 2007, Wyndham Vacation Ownership launched a website, Arnold Palmer Golf Holidays in cooperation with Arnold Palmer.
