Fairbridge Charity

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fairbridge is a UK charity. Fairbridge enables young people aged 13-25 from inner cities to meet the opportunities and responsibilities of society today, by offering them a long-term personal development programme that builds confidence, motivation and personal, social and life skills.

[edit] Hope(less)?:

Thousands of young people have given up hope. Outside education, training and employment, they see no future for themselves.

As a result, there is little to stop them getting into all kinds of trouble – from becoming homeless to involvement in drugs and crime.

But why them? What makes these young people lose their way in life?

At Fairbridge we believe there is a simple answer.

In the vast majority of cases, these ‘hopeless’ young people have never received the support and opportunities that most of us take for granted.

Nobody has told them that they have something to offer. Nobody has helped them discover their skills and talents.

That’s what Fairbridge does.

[edit] Activities

Through a unique combination if long-term personal support and practical learning opportunities, we give young people an opportunity to overcome the odds and prove to themselves and others what they are capable of achieving.

  • Activity-based projects throughout England, Wales and Scotland.
  • Fundraising through individual and corporate supporters
