Fairbanks Township is one of nine townships in Sullivan County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, its population was 728.

Fairbanks Township covers an area of about 41.5 square miles and contains no incorporated settlements. According to the USGS, it contains four cemeteries: Chowning, DeBaun, Pogue and Riggs-Ernest.
