The Fairbanks Grizzlies are a professional indoor football team in the Intense Football League. The team will play their home games at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks, Alaska, where they are expected to form a strong rivalry with the league's Anchorage team, the Alaska Wild.
The Grizzlies are notable for being the northernmost professional gridiron football team in history; the Alaska Wild held the previous record, and before that, the Edmonton Eskimos.

Fairbanks was excited over the fact of a professional football team playing for the city, but the excitment has died down due to criticism about the quality of the players and the initial coach that was chosen for the team. The players seem to have no clue on how to play football and has been commented as almost comical.
An editorial a local paper read "They took such pretty girls and now made them look like cheap trash" referring to the fact that most of the cheerleaders took a drastic makeover after signing up with the team.
Regardless of their faults Fairbanks will most likely still support their team, many are hoping their second year is better than their first.
