Fageol
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fageol was founded in 1916 and was the first company to build a bus from the ground up. The Fageol brothers left the company in 1927 to form the Twin Coach Co. of Kent, Ohio.
Their goal was to build a bus that wasn't prone to overturning when cornering. They built a bus that had a wide track, and was lower to the ground to ensure the passengers' safety. Hence, their buses were called the "Safety Coach". Their later bus products, from the Twin Coach Co. incorporated two engines to obtain the horsepower for higher speeds and carry more passengers, hence the name "Twin Coach".
