Faerie Wars is the first book in the Faerie Wars series by Irish author James Herbert Brennan. The book was released in 2004 and has been published by Bloomsbury for the UK version.

Henry Atherton thinks he is simply saving a butterfly from being eaten by Mr Fogarty’s cat — but he is in fact saving the life of a Faerie of the Light prince called Pyrgus Malvae. Pyrgrus has who has to get back to his own land in order to stop an threatened attack by the Faeries of the Night on the realm of the Faeries. However, time is against Pyrgus Malvae and soon he is relying on Henry and Mr Fogarty not just to get him home but also to solve the puzzle that his entry into the human realm. [1]
