Fading Roots is a 2-LP bootleg album by The Cure, comprising live material from a 1980 concert in Sydney, Australia, and existing material from sessions with John Peel and Kid Jensen.

The audio quality of the sessions material is very poor, and some of the session tracks have been cut short. The audio quality of the live tracks is surprisingly good for a bootleg, although they include cue breaks between songs.

The cover photo of Smith was taken in approximately 1984, while the back photo was taken around 1986.

Both albums have been mislabeled. The first LP is listed as being by the artist The MDs and published by Nightingale Music, while the second LP is listed as being by the artist National Health and published by Paradigm. The albums are respectively named Music as Therapy and It's a Sound Modality.
