"Faded" is a pop rock song written by Matthew Gerrard, Jessica Origliasso, Lisa Origliasso and Robbie Nevil, produced by Gerrard and Bryon Jones for Kate DeAraugo's first album A Place I've Never Been (2005). It was released as the album's second single in Australia on February 19, 2006 as a CD single and digital download. In February 2007, the song was covered by American girl band Everlife and included on their second studio album. It was later covered again by an unknown artist and featured on The Hills Season 3 Episode 10. The song's original writers, Australian pop duo The Veronicas, also performed their own version of the song. German Eurodance group Cascada covered the song on their American/Canadian release of their album Perfect Day.

This was DeAraugo's second top ten single following her number-one single "Maybe Tonight" from her debut platinum album A Place I've Never Been after winning series three of Australian Idol. DeAraugo went on to achieve two other top ten singles with girl group the Young Divas.
