Wikipedia:Facts precede opinions

FPO (Facts Precede Opinions) states that articles should present facts rather than opinions wherever possible. FPO is the corollary to NPOV.

  • When describing a baseball player, instead of saying "John Doe's baseball skills have been praised by baseball insiders such as Al Kaline and Joe Torre", one should say "John Doe is the baseball player who hit the most home runs". Only when it is impossible to make such a factual statement should one include an opinion.
