Fachinformationszentrum Karlsruhe, also known as FIZ Karlsruhe, is a non-profit service institution and member institute of Leibniz-Gemeinschaft, a union of German research institutes. The institute provides information services for European academic and research community and maintains a collection of scientific databases. The institute is perhaps best known as the provider of INKA-MATH, the original electronic version of Zentralblatt MATH, one of the institutions currently editing Zentralblatt MATH, and as the producer of the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD). Its online service STN International (Scientific & Technical Information Network), produced in partnership with the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), resells scientific and patent databases including INSPEC, COMPENDEX, Derwent World Patents Index, INPADOC and The USPTO Genetic Sequence Database (USGENE).
