Fabio Bazzani (born October 20, 1976 Bologna) is an Italian football striker, who currently plays for Brescia Calcio. He is a target man notable for his headers as well as his shooting and strength.
After two seasons with amateur side Boca San Lazzaro, he moved to Serie C2 club Sandonà. In 1997, he was part of Serie B team Venezia, but failed to impress and was capped twice in the season. He thus moved at Varese and then Arezzo, where he managed to impress, scoring 20 goals in 31 matches under the management of Serse Cosmi. In 2000, he returned at Venezia, but did not repeat his previous good season, and scored only five goals in 36 matches. In 2001 he returned to be coached by Cosmi, now at Serie A side Perugia, and performed well for a debut player, scoring ten goals. From 2003 he was part of Sampdoria, where he enjoyed a good form in his early seasons, scoring respectively 16 goals in his first season with the blucerchiati in the Serie B and 13 goals in his second campaign with Sampdoria, now in Serie A. During his second season with Sampdoria, he was also capped three times for the Italian team. He was loaned to Lazio in exchange for Simone Inzaghi in the January of 2005, but failed to impress with the biancazzurri and returned to Sampdoria at the end of the season.
On 14 June 2007, he was signed by Brescia Calcio on free transfer. He originally signed for Livorno, a bid later cancelled following protest by the amaranto supporters which did not want the player in their team.[1]
