[edit] Body Kit Pattern Rendering Problem in IE

The "_stripesandshouldersonwhite" body pattern is not rendering color in Internet Explorer browsers.

For example, the template code "pattern_b1 = _stripesandshouldersonwhite | body1 = 2662BC" is not rendering the stripes and the shoulder line in soft blue color, like it was supposed to, appearing gray instead.

The problem lies with alpha channel transparency, which causes rendering problems in IE. [1]

Suggested fix is using 8-bit palette indexed transparency.

[edit] Name change

Does anyone have a problem if I change the title to FC Porto or F.C. Porto? This club is known in English by FC Porto (Ef Cee Porto), and that's the title of every club you can find, except from Sporting Clube de Portugal which is the name chosen by the club to be used by UEFA in official competitions. Give me feedback, please. Joaopais 23:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FC Porto squad

Was trying to fix squad composition and screwed chart, now cannot arrange it back. SORRY!!!

VASCO AMARAL, PORTUGAL (User n.217.129.67.28)

Regarding the Total spending in acquisitions, the previous value was not correct.

Porto invested 25.051.755 Euros and not 15.500.000 euros. The 15,5 M is (as the text states) the value invested only in 3 players: Ernesto Farias, Stepanov and Bolatti. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.159.154.10 (talk) 17:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Porto History!

There is no evidences that the club started in 1893. A former president and founder of the club wrote a text in 1926 that a group left "Grupo do Destino" in 1906 to start Foot-ball Club do Porto with no references to any connections to António Nicolau de Almeida, the man said to be the founder of the club. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.159.159.28 (talk • contribs) 22:29, 11 October 2007

If you can read portuguese, read this. If you can't, the very first sentence translates as follows: "There is not a shadow of a doubt: Foot Ball Club do Porto was founded on 28 September 1893." Also, check the club's website or the "Dragão Ano 111" books, the official history of FC Porto. It has been established as a fact that the FC Porto founded in 1893 is the one that was reactivated in 1906 and the one we know today. Lampadinha 23:02, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

The only thing you are saying, and that is the only thing that was proven till today, is that there was a club with the same name in Oporto between 1983 and 1984.

The founders of the actual F C Porto had nothing to do with that and knew nothing about it, so they did not reactivate the club. This "reactivation" was conceived many years after when someone read old news papers and found that Nicolau de Almeida existed. A nice story was created but no facts have ever shown that Nicolau de Almeida ever met the ones who left "Grupo do Destino" to found FCPorto.

This decision was taken during the PINTO da COSTA presidency... till then the foundation of Porto was 2nd of August 1906.

All the "official" things you show were made in the last years... during the same presidency and the value of it is 0. History should not be changed!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.159.159.28 (talk) 06:57, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I know the decision to change the club's birth date was made during Pinto da Costa's presidency, because documents were found proving that the club was the same one. Or at least that's what it says in ALL sources, because I've obviously not seen the documents myself. If you've been checking the facts/documents/archives yourself and think all sources are wrong and the FC Porto founded in 1906 has nothing to do with the FC Porto founded in 1893, write a book about it and then you can include that information as an alternative version. Until then, we'll just have to let the article as it is, even if you are 100% sure of the opposite, because as we all know Wikipedia has a no original research policy. Image:Madjer.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Confusion

There's a big mistake that should be correct, the case that is related with the decision of Porto won't play on next season for Champions League is Apito Final, not Apito Dourado. They are two diferent cases. The same that make Porto loose 6 points this season. See: [2]
