Judge F. Hiner Dale was a prominent state court trial judge in western Oklahoma who died in 1966. A native of Missouri, he settled in Guymon, in the panhandle of Oklahoma. He was an Oklahoma District Court judge for the center of the Dustbowl during the Great Depression. In that role, he worked vigorously to help maintain local farms and ranches.
Judge Dale is in Ripley's Believe It Or Not for a case in which he was the presiding judge, a daughter was the defense attorney, and a son was the prosecutor. The daughter defended successfully.[citation needed]
