Description

Two McDonnell F-4B Phantom II fighters (BuNos 150473, 151418) of Marine fighter-bomber squadron VMFA-513 Flying Nightmares in the fall of 1964. The F-4Bs are carrying eighteen 226 kg (500 lb) bombs, four 2.75 inch rocket pods and four AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles. Beginning on 1 August 1963 the squadron was equipped with the F-4B and trained MCAS at El Toro through October 1964, when VMFA-513 deployed to NAS Atsugi, Japan.
