Judging from the chat sites on the net, F-16 VISTA and F-35 STOVL are not really comparable. In fact, 360 degree thrust vectoring would be impossible on the F-35. So any risk reduction provided by VISTA yould have been operational rather than in terms of engineering design. It's been suggested tyat 360 degree thrust vectoring might return for 6th generation aircraft, if we ever get that far with manned jet fighters. 20.133.0.13 (talk) 12:07, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
