Fūrinkazan (風林火山?), literally "Wind, Forest, Fire and Mountain", was the battle standard used by the Sengoku period daimyo Takeda Shingen, quoting The Art of War: "Move as swift as a wind, stay as steady as forest, attack as fierce as fire, unmovable defence like a mountain."

- The plot from chapters 613 to 618 of the manga Detective Conan (also known as Case Closed in the English translation) revolves around the phrase "Move as swift as a wind, stay as steady as forest, attack as fierce as fire, unmovable defence like a mountain." [1]
- One of the 48 Killer Techniques of the Choujin (a.k.a. super hero) Kinnikuman from the manga and anime of the same name.
- A book by Yasushi Inoue is named after it.
- A movie (Samurai Banners) directed by Hiroshi Inagaki is named after it.
- Ryu, the main character of the Street Fighter fighting games series, has Fūrinkazan (in kanji) sculpted on his belt, and made two vertical board on both side of his home stage[2].
- Sanada Genichirou, a character from the Prince of Tennis Japanese manga, has a series of special techniques known as the Fuu Rin Ka Zan.
- There is a card in the Yugioh TCG named Furinkazan.
- Torakichi Aragoma uses a chess strategy with this name in the MegaMan NT Warrior series, and it is one of the reasons he and his father became famous chess players.
- In the videogame The King of Fighters 2002, the character Goro Daimon's Hidden Super Desperation Move is named after it.
- In the "Words of Devotion" Japanese yaoi manga by Keiko Kanno, volume two's chapter titles are based on the four themes.
