In 2004, the Newcom Group, had initiated extensive research and project study on the feasibility of starting up new domestic air transport services. Based on the research it founded Eznis Airways in February 2006 as its fully owned subsidiary. During 2005-2006, Eznis' pilots have been trained at Ansett Training Center in Australia followed by line training supervised by former Japan Air Commuter's (JAC) captains. In July 2006, the Qantas has provided Emergency training for entire crew while Saab Aircraft AB provided line maintenance training for maintenance staff in October 2005. Moreover, crew attended CRM training by Boeing in 2005, Dangerous goods training by IATA in 2005. Both GE & Hamilton provided engine & propeller line maintenance training for Eznis' technicians.
