Ezhuthani is a small metalic rod with sharp tip and used by ancient scholors to write in palm leaves.
Ezhuthani is a Tamil word. Though exact shape and structure of the ezhuthani was not known, often it would be depicted in imaginative pictures of ancient poets like Thiruvalluvar, author of immortal Thirukkural, an anthology of 1330 Tamil couplets, which philosophically talks of almost all the emotional and basic areas of of human living starting from god to rain to governance to sex.
In these kind of imaginative depictions ezhuthani looks like a mega size ball pin.
