This template employs intricate features of template syntax.

Below are four versions of this template useful for different purposes. The first is for general use with {{Infobox Single}}. The second is the same, but is used to display the entire track listing of an album. The third is for use with {{Infobox Song}}, where several versions have been recorded. The fourth is the same, and again is for displaying the entire track listing of an album. Please see the "Notes" section below for additional information regarding usage.

- The "Tracks" field must never be used with the "prev_track", "this_track" and "next_track" fields, as this will result in a display error.
- The {{Infobox Song}} versions may also be used with the {{Infobox Single}} template if other versions/variations of the same song have been recorded. In this situation, the first version of this template should be used first (representing the single's album) and the third version should be used afterward (representing recordings on other albums). See "Bring Me to Life" for this use of the code in action.
The "Type" field refers to the general type of the album or release that the song is from. Enter a code from the following chart, and the template will display the appropriate color. If the type is unknown, leave the field blank and the article will automatically be added to Category:Song articles with infoboxes with non-standard extra track listings for later categorization.
