there's also the notion of extending a function that's defined on a given domain to all of Rⁿ. (there's a question of what regularity is achievable for the extension.) on a related note, there's a sort of converse to the theorem regarding which functions have traces on the boundary of a given domain: given a trace, does there exist a function defined on the domain with that as its trace? there's a few articles that wikipedia needs yet if anyone finds themselves with nothing to do... ;) Lunch 23:55, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
