Extasy Records is an independent record label founded in April 1986 by Yoshiki Hayashi, co-founder of the group X Japan (then still named "X"). The label's first release was the X single "Orgasm", followed by the band's debut album Vanishing Vision in 1988.[1]

Over the next few years, the label signed on several then-little-known bands (among them Glay, Luna Sea and Zi:Kill) and produced their early records. Extasy Records also hosted a series of events to promote them, called the Extasy Summit Festivals, which would regularly feature formerly signed on bands that had already moved on to a major label deal.[1]

On September 2007, Yoshiki announced the release of the Hollywood movie Catacombs soundtrack under Extasy Records International. The soundtrack includes songs by Violet UK and zilch.[2]
