[edit] Edit Summary Request

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini 00:48, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help request

I am writing my first page on Wikipedia, and am having trouble locating a pic where I want it on the page. Specifically, I wish to move the picture "bocksbeutels.jpg" to the right margin next to the viniculture entry.

Can you assist?

Thanks! --NDM 04:57, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, it'd be easier to do this if I could see the page. But, typically, you can change an image's alignment by adding information in the tag. So you would say, [[Image:EXAMPLE.jpg|right|thumb|150px|CAPTION GOES HERE]]. Does that help? -- Merope Talk 05:20, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

I got it! Thanks!! --NDM 05:30, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Great! I did some clean-up of the article, formatting it per the Manual of Style. Let me know if you need anything else! Oh, and I wanted to remind you that when you leave messages on talk pages, be sure to add ~~~~ at the end of your post; this will automatically insert your signature and the time. Thanks! -- Merope Talk 05:32, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

I need to move the first line on my article "eltmann" that says "table adapted..." to a location immediately under the table on the right margin.....right beneath the mayor's name. This is an attribution footnote for this table.

As this is my first page, I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!--NDM 18:25, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Done. Just incorporate it into the table itself. --  Netsnipe  ►  19:30, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello. I tried to add it in at the bottom but this seemed to just break the table. As its from another Wikipedia anyway, I'm not sure it's that important to say it came from de:. — Gary Kirk // talk! 19:34, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks to all who helped. I think this article looks great!--NDM 07:55, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your message

Hello, Expertfp1!' The best way to leave me a message is to click this which will enable you to create a new section on my talk page, so I'll see it more easily. If you need more help, try the IRC channels or if you can't, ask at the help desk as I'm going offline now. — Gary Kirk // talk! 20:12, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] References

You may want to convert the references listed at Eltmann to the Wikipedia:Footnotes format using <ref> tags and {{cite news}}/{{cite web}}. See my userpage for an example if you're still confused. --  Netsnipe  ►  05:41, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:Fluzwup

I reviewed the edit you complained about at WP:AIV, and it does not appear to be vandalism. It appears this user broke up your comments to respond to them individually, but did not delete any of your comments. By using a colon (:) at the beginning of each of his comments, he indented them and made it clear they were responses. The fact that he did not sign each separate comment was confusing, and I am leaving him a note to that effect. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions, and (belatedly) welcome to Wikipedia! --Ginkgo100 talk · e@ 00:31, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] thanks

I hardly did anything to Eltmann. But that edit was part of a concerted effort to improve articles on German localities, which you are welcome to join. Agathoclea (talk) 21:37, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
