[edit] TRNC Arms

Since the state arms have changed and the first edit attempt was immediately kicked off, putting it in the way I did was the only alternative. Could the individual or individuals responsible for updating national emblems do it to this one without some retarded program routine removing it? Which image are you talking about, and what seems to be the problem? --Carnildo (talk) 23:39, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

The state arms of the TRNC have been ammended to look like this. However, attempts to update the relevent files have been kicked back. I was under the impression that Wikipedia welcomes those who try and bring in updated information Expatkiwi
The problem with the image is that you haven't provided any information on what it's an image of or where the image came from. You also need to indicate the copyright status of the image. --Carnildo (talk) 00:11, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nzpost-flag.gif

Thank you for uploading Image:Nzpost-flag.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:51, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rhodesian Bush War to Second Chimurenga name change?

There's currently some discussion going on the talk page Talk:Rhodesian Bush War. One user has proposed changing the name of the article Rhodesian Bush War to second Chimurenga. There appears to be some support and some opposition. Sf46 (talk) 11:34, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:1980.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:1980.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

[edit] Lincoln

Wikipedia is not a place to store the text of speeches. Think of a speech as lyrics to a song, which are explicitly covered by the NOT policy. I think there is certainly a place for an article about a speech, but it really needs to be an article covering the speech and not a reprint of the speech in whole. I'm going to go ahead and redirect to Lincoln one more time. Erechtheus (talk) 04:01, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

The second address is an article about the address. I'll grant you that it includes text of the address. The point is that you need more than that to make a proper article for this project. That's what the second has that this one lacks. Are you planning to put additional content in place in the next 24 hours or so? If so, I'm happy to hold off on redirecting. Erechtheus (talk) 04:06, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I intend to. Expatkiwi 11:33, 22 April 2008 (PDT)

That's a good start. If the topic interests you, I hope you keep it up. Be sure to remember the sources (I've added the unref template as a reminder). Erechtheus (talk) 23:04, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
