I am a well-known administrator at Wikipedia who has seen this project go from something pure and wonderful to a snakepit of personal agendas. I have been tempted to use my power as an administrator to put an end to this, but that would just make the problem worse. Instead, I am relinquishing the power and respect that comes from having tens of thousand of edits, and starting over with a blank slate. I want my words to only carry the weight of the logic behind them.

Editors who broadcast their number edits, whether positive and negative, as if that number were meant to give them additional power, are beneath my contempt. Administrators who use their power to push personal agendas are, in my opinion, the scum of the Earth. Groups of people using their combined editing power without individually considering the moral implications of their actions are my biggest targets.

I will fight these despicable pillagers with all my might as an individual with a voice. I will not use my administration powers, the ties I have made with friends, or the previous user-contributions associated with my main log-in for this purpose because that would make me just as bad as the people destroying Wikipedia.
