Unreal Tournament: Expanded Multiplayer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unreal Tournament: Expanded Multiplayer, or UT XMP, is an Unreal Tournament 2004 port of eXpanded MultiPlayer, the free 2003 multiplayer expansion pack originally for Unreal 2.
[edit] Motivation
Despite its short lifespan, the original XMP led to a relatively sizable community of dedicated players. After Legend Entertainment was shut down by Atari in January 2004, XMP would no longer be supported. This disappointed its fans, and inspired by this news, in April 2004, several key community members formed Free Monkey Interactive and announced their plans to port the game to Unreal Tournament 2004, with the blessing of Epic Games and former Legend Entertainment developers.
[edit] Releases
The first playable build, "Public Beta 1", was released 10 December 2004. Free Monkey Interactive has since released several more public releases.
The current version of UT XMP is Public Release 3.52.
