Exotic plants
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Exotic plants are plants that are introduced in to parts of the world other than their country of origin as ornamental plants. The term is most commonly used of tropical or subtropical plants. Exotics are frequently utilized in the garden, but are also kept in greenhouses or as houseplants.
When introduced in another tropical region, exotics can sometimes escape from gardens and become invasive species that outcompete native flora.
