Notice There are several images named "example": Image:Example.jpg, Image:Example.png, Image:Example.gif and Image:Example.svg.

The JPG image is the example inserted when a user clicks the "embedded file" button in the edit toolbar. Pages with that image left will be actively sought out and fixed. If you need a test image for permanent demonstration purposes, then instead use for instance the PNG image.
