[edit] Edit war isnt good
use the talk page to discuss changes, i am no fan of mr invader but us the talk page because it will only get reverted by the editors, if you discuss it then it will actually have a chance of being included--HalaTruth(ሀላካሕ) 09:29, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Meles Zenawi
Please do not remove content from Wikipedia, as you did to Meles Zenawi. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 05:39, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- As you can see, the article is already flagged for not maintaining a neutral point-of-view. I'm sure you'd agree that the text in the article should be backed up by reliable sources - in fact, the comments you left for me on my talk page indicated you are concerned about accuracy. However, your edits (e.g. this one) removed text that cited its sources. At the same time you added apparent quotations without providing any sources for them. Please have a look at Wikipedia's policy regarding verifiability, as well as the three-revert rule. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 07:29, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. I think it would be better if you provided your sources and proposed your changes on the Talk:Meles Zenawi page. Wikipedia is (ideally) based on group consensus, and I think it would be a good idea to involve everyone who is actively involved with the article. It's entirely possible that a talk page discussion will itself get heated, but that is generally preferable to having the article revert from one version to another and back again, etc. In any case, in a few days I'll be taking a Wiki Break until this end of this month, so you'll want to think about engaging with others anyway. Also, for what it's worth, I don't think that anyone currently involved with the article is a fan of Meles (in fact, if you'll look at the Talk page, you'll see there were previous complaints about a pro-Meles stance). But our personal feelings about the man must take a backseat to upholding Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Although, granted, it seems that bringing the article up to good status could be a huge undertaking (especially trying to reach a consensus among everyone). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:32, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Prof. ALi Jimale
Prof. ALi Jimale, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Prof. ALi Jimale satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Prof. ALi Jimale and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Prof. ALi Jimale during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Marlith T/C 03:28, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also note that we don't need two articles about the same person. The article already exists as Ali Jimale. Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:29, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
