[edit] To Do
- Research activities for years 1909 and 1959; they apparently marked large international celebrations of both Darwin and Evolution Days, e.g. [1]
- Find any planned 2009 activities (these will probably mostly show up in 2008)

[edit] Article Marked for Deletion
I got a message that the article had been marked for deletion. That there's been no comment here does not incline me to support it. I've not been on Wikipedia too much lately, so here's what's new; "Princess Tiswas" added:
This article or section may contain original research or unverified claims. Please help Wikipedia by adding references. See the talk page for details. This article has been tagged since May 2007.
??? The article is a stub; there's almost nothing to it! The only "claim" that the article makes (that you don't see in other articles, such as the Darwin Day article, is that "Evolution Day" is the name someone gave to the anniversary of the first publication of The Origin of Species, which brings me to what Terraxos added:
It is proposed that this article be deleted, because of the following concern: Entirely unreferenced, and has remained so ever since it was created in 2005. Even if its existence could be verified, there is no case for its notability. Wikipedia is not for stuff made up in school one day.
I certainly did not make it up; I read about it several years ago (and blogged about it in 2004 [2]). And I would argue that while it might be obscure, its certainly notable (or at least as notable as any of the other days in Category:Geek_holidays)
Until someone can find a better reference, I will use this one[3] in the article and reverse the notices on the page. -- Limulus 08:48, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
