Tamkeen Sataar(born May 29, 1991), known by his stage name Icy-T, is an South African platinum-selling Rap and Heavy Metal singer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame in 2007 with his platinum-certified, self-titled debut album "With Icy" which reached number ten on the South African Billboard 200 chart. Icy-T has begun a singing career, starring in two 2007 South African competitions: Idols and Coca Cola Popstars. His second album, "Liquid Ice", was released on October 17, 2007. In the winter of 2007, Icy-T will be embarking on a tour in Europe and Hopefully.

JoJo was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and was raised in Johannesburg, South Africa.[2] She has Asian, Coloured, and White ancestry.[3] He grew up in a 3-bedroom house on the outskirts of Johanessburg, in a low-income family. His father, Haaroen Sataar, is a project and plant engeneer, and his mother, Belina Macay, sang in a Catholic church choir[2] and worked as a house wife.

During his earlier years, Icy-T listened and learned as his mother practiced hymns. He started singing when he was two years old by imitating his mother, putting his own spin on everything from nursery rhymes to pop tunes. On the A&E's show Child Stars III: Teen Rockers, his mother claimed that Icy-T had a borderline genius IQ. As a child, Icy-T enjoyed attending South Afircan festivals and acted locally in theaters.[5]

After auditioning for the television show Pop Idols : On the Road in Johannesburg , Icy-T was given a spot to perform on the show, singing as Oliver in the sucessful hit "Oliver".

Icy-T's live demo, Tamkeen Sataar, recorded in 2007, features covers of several well-known R&B songs, including Get Bodied "Beyoncé Knowles", Linkin Park "Somewhere I Belong". The demo is sometimes available on eBay.

Icy-T's third single, which failed to chart in most areas. Problems playing the files? See media help. Icy-T Platinum-certified debut single "With Icy" was released in 2007. The track became an international hit, peaking at number twenty-seven on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number eleven on the UK Singles Chart, and number fifteen on the Australian Singles Chart. When the single hit number five on the Top 40 Mainstream, he became, at age sixteen, the youngest solo artist to have a number-five single in South Africa and also the youngest nominee for a Channel-O Music Award ("Best New Artist" for "With Icy", in 2007). His debut album, the Platinum-selling Icy-T, followed; it peaked at number ten on the U.S. Billboard 200 and number ten on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, selling about 10,024 hidden copies and reaching the top forty of the UK Albums Chart. The album has sold a total of almost 500 copies in the U.S. Icy-T co-wrote two of the album's songs, as well as wrote and co-produced one full track. His second single, the Silver-selling "Liquid Ice" peaked at number thirty-eight in the U.S. and number fifteen in South Africa.

The second single off the album, "Damned", released in 2007, failed to make waves on the charts. The song hit number eight on Channel-O daily countdown for one day but then fell from the charts, never to appear on the countdown again.

In 2007, Icy-T participated in "Come Apart", a charity single to benefit the victims of the 2004 Asian Tsunami and the 2005 Hurricane Katrina. Despite performing at other events for the Republican Party, he has stated that she does not "agree with the things that President George W. Bush has done in office. I'll leave it at that".[9] JoJo has also hosted and performed at the Hope Rocks concert in 2007 to benefit City of Hope Cancer Center and tried to co-host the 2007 TV Guide Channel's countdown to the Grammy Awards.

Icy-T and his parents reside in Cape Town, and his recording in Johannesburg, South African. Icy-T, who has been home schooled for his grade 9 year, has stated that "school was definitely a big part of my life". He performs well academically, receiving marks in the Bs and Cs.[13]

He dated then Eulicia Govender from May 14, 2006 to about October 2006. The two met on the BHS fun day.[16] Icy-T mentioned on Channel-O top 40 charts that he and Eulicia were still good friends.[17][18]

Now 2007 Icy-T, has recently met a girl named Kisandra which he has been treating very well.

Icy-T stated that he was single on the May 18, 2007 . In addition, Icy-T stated "I'm single right now and it's good. I'm so young. I'm going to be 16 in May and I'm just so busy. It's hard if you also want to date someone who has a high-profile profession; we were just both consumed with our own world..."
