Evgeny Rukhin (Russian: Евгений Рухин; July 2, 1943 - May 24, 1975) was a Russian avant-garde painter.

He was born in Saratov, Russia into a family of scientists. He began painting at the age of twenty, during his geological studies. His paintings were highly controversial. At the age of 32 he died in a mysterious fire in his studio, widely believed to have been started by the KGB as a tactic to scare him into conformity.
