Evgeny Artyukhin

Evgeny Artyukhin (born April 4, 1983 in Moscow, Russia) is a professional ice hockey right winger who plays in Russia and in 2005–06 for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL.

At 6'5, 260 pounds, Evgeny Artyukhin was drafted in the 3rd round, 94th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

2007–08: Rejected a $475,000 contract from the Tampa Bay Lightning. His agent, Mark Gandler, has asked Tampa Bay to trade his client, claiming that the Lightning are punishing Evgeny for not resigning a year ago. It is believed Evgeny was seeking a $1 million contract.

2004–05: Spent the entire season at the AHL level for the 1st time in his career, recording 9 goals and 19 assists in 62 games. His 28 points ranked 5th on the team and he was tied for 3rd in assists. He also was tied for 3rd on the Falcons with 3 power play goals. His 142 PIM ranked 6th on the team.

2003–04: Made his professional debut, appearing in 36 games with the Hershey of the AHL, recording 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points while racking up 111 penalty minutes. Was 3rd on the Bears in penalty minutes. Also played in 6 games with Pensacola of the East Coast Hockey League scoring 1 goal and adding 14 PIM. Signed by the Lightning on 7/15/03.

2002–03: Made North American debut with Moncton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Appeared in 53 games, recording 13 goals, 27 assists and 204 PIM. Was 2nd on team in PIM, 5th on team in assists, T-6th in points (40). Also skated in 6 games with Russia at 2003 World Junior Championships, recording 1 goal and 10 PIM. Helped Russia capture Gold Medal.

Russian career: Appeared in 76 games during 3 seasons with Podolsk-1, Podolsk- 2 and Podolsk Jr.
